Emperor's Gobenden at Hijiyama. During the First Sino-Japanese War, an Imperial Headquarters was established in Hiroshima. A gobenden (a small shrine where the emperor could rest and relax) was also built in the Western Drill Ground. It was moved to Hijiyama in 1910. The gobenden collapsed under the blast, and the yard in front was soon filled with injured victims seeking refuge
